The Bulgarian company Art Ethernal Print is one of the largest publishing houses in the country. It has been involved in the printing and distribution of books of all genres for a long time. Last year, it sold almost 950,000 books in its own network of bookstores, Art Plus Books, or through cooperation with retail chains Lidl, T-Market, OMV.
Art Ethernal Print has been working successfully with Konica Minolta since 2018, when it started to build its own publishing house based on digital printing technologies. Although they were aware of the need to innovate and increasingly use digital technologies, it was only the market situation that forced them to act. They continuously printed bigger variety of books in small or medium-sized editions. For these jobs, conventional offset printing was not very efficient and, above all, not profitable.
Konica Minolta Bulgaria had been actively communicating with Art Ethernal Print about AccurioJet KM-1e for the last 2 years. Due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic, considerations of powerful and flexible digital technologies have been interrupted. The process of selecting new technologies was completed with the device demonstration in IPES Bratislava. They recognized what processes they need to modernize and which devices to purchase.
The Bulgarian publishing house opted for the KM-1e - Konica Minolta's flagship product. "The combination of absorbing demonstration and IPES expertise has borne its fruit. The customer appreciated the presented IPES functionality for printing, embellishing and creating of real applications and all in one place. In addition to KM-1e demonstration itself, they were also captivated by MOTIONCUTTER – high-speed laser system. The publishing representatives knew immediately that they could use it to solve their ongoing issues with the production of custom boxes and labels. They realized that being efficient is not just about having fast, high quality digital printing, but having powerful and flexible equipment throughout the entire job process as well.
Currently, both devices are installed in Bulgaria and have started to deliver fast, cheaper and efficient production. Thanks to them, they are able to take their business to the next level.
